Kudos to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation!

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and genetic research at leading medical centers world-wide. Additionally they seek to increase public awareness about good breast health.

Founded in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder, the BCRF has raised approximately $195 million−35 million of which was raised in 2007 alone. Over 85% of the monies raised by BCRF go to support clinical and genetic research at medical institutions across the globe. They also support the development
of world-wide awareness programs. BCRF funds those individuals conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help to lead to prevention and a cure.

In 2007, the BCRF awarded $32 million to 151 researchers across the United Stated, Canada, Europe, Israel and Latin America. Because of the high percentage of monies that go directly to research, the BCRF has received exceptional recognition from several organizations that monitor and provide comprehensive unbiased information on charities. The BCRF derives its funding primarily from corporate partnerships but they also welcome contributions from all those concerned with women’s health. They know that working together we can and will find
a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.

The BCRF needs your support to help inch closer to the finish line.
